Description:

KnowPap is a new generation learning environment covering paper technology, process control, paper mill automation and maintenance. It consists of multimedia training material and simulation models that are accessed by a standard web browser. KnowPap is used for self-studying and as supplementary material for training within paper manufgactoring companies, suppliers and consulting companies, universities and other educational institutes.
The development of KnowPap was started in 1997. The Project was managed by VTT Automation and the system was completed in the beginning of 2001. KnowPap was then already in use in the participating companies, Helsinki University of Technology, Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT) and in more than 20 other educational institutes.
